Iran Unknown

When I travel to Turkey with a travel agency, I ask is there aku tour package to Iran? Answered by the travel guide that Iran is an insecure country and the country has no route to that country. Then, two years ago, I intend to go to Iran. See with your own eyes. I did not find what was said by the travel agent. A pleasant and memorable trip.

Now, Iran vs America (US) has become the world's spotlight. After the death of Iran's Top General Qosem Soleimani due to US missiles on Friday (1/3/2020). Almost everyone speaks with their own points of view. President Donald Trump also threatened Iran that it would destroy sites owned by Iran, via Twitter. The Trump administration and its supporters have looked down on the people and people of Iran.  

Here are some facts about Iran that are expected to can help explain: 

  1. Iran is a large country with a population of more than 80 million people.
  2. Iran is one of the birthplaces of great civilization.
  3. Iran has some of the most ancient cities and artifacts in the world, including more than 24 sites recognized by UNESCO - more than any other country in the world and up to now.
  4. Iran is home to the second largest Jewish population in the world outside Israel, with more than 60,000 Iranian Jews living in Tehran alone. They love their country, practice their religion freely and are well represented in the Iranian government.
  5. Iran is home to nearly one million Christians who love their country, who are well represented in the Iranian government and practice their religion freely. 
  6. Other minority religions include the Bahai and Zoroastrians, but the majority of the country is Shia Muslims, a small proportion are Sunni Muslims. 
  7. Iranian citizens are highly educated and believed to be the most educated in the entire Middle East.
  8. Iran has more women in Parliament than most Western countries, there are currently 17 seats.
  9. Iran also has one of the highest science and engineering graduates in the PhD level among men and women in the world, and the highest PhD level for women in the world.
  10. Iran has the largest gas reserves in the entire Middle East, and has large oil reserves.
  11. In 1979, Iran overthrew the US-backed dictator Shah through a revolution that opposed monopolistic capitalism and neocolonialism. 
  12. Sanctions on Iran have the unexpected effect of turning the country into a major car and defense producer, competing with countries like China and the US.
  13. Iranian cuisine is absolutely delicious. Please try roasted koobideh and tomatoe with turmeric rice.
  14. Lanscape Iran is diverse and very beautiful. 
  15. Iranians are the most misunderstood people in the world. They are kind, generous and probably the best people you will ever meet. 


These are only 15 simple facts about Iran. There is much more that can be said about this country and its people just like any other nation and their people anywhere in the world. Is Iran perfect? No. Like other countries, Iran faces similar problems that we face, but that does not give us or any other country the right to attack the whole country as Washington has done.
